Today /4.11/ at 6:00pm at the ZPAF Old Gallery in Warsaw, Archiwum Historii Mówionej Ośrodka KARTA and Dom Spotkań z Historią invite you to a meeting devoted to the project Family Album of the twentieth century. During the meeting, a selection of photographs from the collection of Archiwum Historii Mówionej Ośrodka KARTA and Dom Spotkań z Historią, of over 300 thousand photographs, will be presented. The work on the archives and the status of family photography will be discussed by Catherine Madoń - Mitzner, Agnieszka Pajączkowska and Monika Szewczyk-Wittek. Family Album of the twentieth century is a collection of photographs taken in the comfort of private homes, studios or outdoors. These leisurely images, retain small fragments of everyday life, interpersonal relationships, or emotions associated with specific events. Unfamiliar faces and scenes that were captured on amateur photographs often make up a record of what we Poles in the twentieth century have deemed worthy of perpetuation in the family album.
