Today, Americans commemorate the twelfth anniversary of one the darkest days in their nation’s history. On September 11, 2001, the lives of more than 3,000 innocent men and women were stolen in an act of terrorism that continues to be difficult to comprehend. The U.S. Embassy in Abuja will remember this tragic event with a public address and moment of silence at 1:46 pm, the time that the first plane struck the World Trade Center in New York City. We encourage all U.S. government offices in country and lovers of America to do the same if possible. May our prayers bring solace and strength to their families on this poignant occasion.
