Today Chief Waller, Major Andy Walters, and myself with the assistance of Brevard County Sheriffs Office members completed the ALS Ice Bucket challenge to raise awareness and money for research for ALS. The challenge has raised over 10 million dollars across the country to help the over 6,000 people annually that are diagnosed with ALS. As part of the awareness campaign I issued a personal Ice Bucket challenge to all of the Sheriffs in the state of Florida, everyone who is currently running for Office in Brevard County, and fellow Constitutional Officers Scott Ellis, Dana Blickley, Lisa Cullen, and Lori Scott. Commander Waller challenged his former roommate from the FBI National Academy, Kelly Leben, Commander Alan Moros, and Major Andy Walters who then joined the challenge with us. Major Walters issued a challenge to his brother Phillip Walters, Cheryl Sink, and Chris Ferrante. Please join me in thanking everyone who has participated in the challenge for ALS.
