Today, Governor Bobby Jindal, Speaker of the House Chuck Kleckley, Colonel Mike Edmonson, Sheriff Mike Waguespack and a delegation from the Louisiana State Police travelled to south Texas at its border with Mexico for a security briefing and tour by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). This is Colonel Edmonson’s second trip to the McAllen, TX area to meet with law enforcement partners from the Texas DPS to discuss border security issues that affect the citizens of Louisiana. The visit includes a security briefing by intelligence officials and an air and marine tour of the border.
