Today I am 3 years off of narcotics pain scripts, it was a long journey and I had become an addict from being on them for 12 years. I quit cold turkey, I talked to a Doctor about stopping and he said they would give me other pills that were just as addictive so I decided to do it by myself. I will say it hurt like my body was in a vice grip and I thought I would never get away from the toilet but after 3 days I started to feel better went out for short walks with Tim spent a lot of time in the shower for the aching muscles but it got better and better. I did this for my hubby, all my boys, my daughter in laws Katie and Megan and most certainly my gorgeous grandson Leeland. Addiction is no joke, but it is not something to be ashamed of I was ashamed but thinking on it long and hard and talking to people I realized everyday I dont take any narcotics I should be proud of myself for winning that battle? I wont say war because it is something I fight everyday and I have had roadblocks thrown in my way like when I had surgery on my ankle I wouldnt take anything stronger the Ibuprofen and I had to tell my nurses and Doctor I didnt want the morphine. When I blew out my back oh here you need vicodin I said no I dont. That is story and I am proud to say I am still around and so er today because if I stayed on them, I probably would have been in a he in the ground
