Today I am celebrating my one year Rodanniversary! It has officially been one year since I have started my own business, and the journey has been incredible! I was never looking for anything extra to do. My life was already crazy busy with two boys, a great paying full time IT nursing job, running a household, feeding the mouths of 3 hungry males, volunteering at the healthcare center, driving the kids to activities, and a side business catering sweet treats. When my amazing friend Karen Johnson Diaz showed me how I could do this without it interrupting my life, the business woman in me was saying –“I would be crazy not to do this!” My 25 year “early” retirement plan has now turned into 3-5 years. Never in my wildest dreams and I am closer to it than I have ever been!! I felt scared, anxious, nervous of failing but knew if I didn’t at least try, I wouldn’t know where it could take me. When you are surrounded by close-knit, supportive and encouraging men and women who lift you up and help keep you going, the only way I was going was all the way to the top! The best part is, I am making a steady extra income stream, and I am doing it in the comfort of my own home and on my own terms! I earned generous gifts along the way – even a free trip to Napa and San Francisco next week!! I love being pampered, acknowledged and appreciated for my hard work! I have never been given 1 single gift by an employer in my 14 years as a nurse, but with this job, you always feel valued! I have an amazing group of friends and family who I get to “work” with and who all believe in not only helping themselves and their family but also helping others do the same. Honestly, without them, I would not be where I am today. So cheers to you my beautiful partners! You are incredible people, with hearts of gold and an unwavering belief in yourself and the success of your business! I cannot wait for you to reach your goals and your dreams! I will always be right next to you cheering you on as you have been with me!!
