Today, I am grateful to have been a part of Publix Supermarkets, Inc. I worked for Publix 30 Years. Many great, wonderful,fantabulous bosses and friends...There were 6 men that made a difference in my life. 1. Jesse Benton 2.Terry Seaney (my husband in my next life) 3.Henry Pileggi 4. Rob Chapman 5.Tony Zeaiter 6. Barney Barnett....when my father passed away I replaced him with Rob. Yesterday, Rob announced his retirement. I am glad the day came where he could enjoy it. My greatest memory of him was when I snuck in his office early early before he got there and took all of his Gator Garb and turned it all around backwards.It was his birthday..and I placed a lounge chair,beer, towel, beach stuff....in there as well. A little before 7 am I was in the back office preparing payroll and over the intercom comes this shrill of a deep voice saying PATRICIA Please come to my office.. It was not a nice tone. He had never called me Patricia before. I snickered all the way back there. Glenn Pafford walked pass me and said I would not want to be you today..... I went in all I could do was laugh...the madder he got the harder I laughed.....He said you have less than an hour to place everything back...It took 2 hours to turn it around...Before he left for his meeting I had it all back in place. He gave me a bear hug and said thank you...before we closed that store I thought he was the perfect man, husband and father....Dec 31st he will be playing full time Grandpa. Enjoy, my friend!
