Today I am made to reflect again on my identity as a Christian. I - TopicsExpress

Today I am made to reflect again on my identity as a Christian. I profess the faith of Jesus Christ as revealed to the Thusia Seventh-day Adventist Church and I am not ashamed of it ever. I invite you to consider below: Thusia is a greek word used in the bible that means sacrifice and it is used in scriptures such as the following: Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savor. Ephesians 5:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12: 1 AND last but not least, Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. GATHER MY SAINTS TOGETHER UNTO ME; THOSE THAT HAVE MADE MY COVENANT WITH ME BY SACRIFICE. Psalm 50: 3-5 (Emphasis supplied-The Greek Septuagint translates the hebrew word for sacrifice here into the greek Thusia) When I study the lessons of Jesus Christ my Savior I see that he is the Thusia (sacrifice) for the sins of man. I see also that he calls us humanity to present our bodies as living Thusia (SACRIFICE); to deny ourselves and the world for love to God and our fellowmen. I see that if I do not deny myself, take up my cross and follow him, I cannot be his disciple (Matthew 16:24-25). I see also that if I deny my Savior for any favor with men, for any escape of trials and persecution, he will deny me also before his heavenly father. And in the text above in Psalm 50 I see that YHWHs saints that he will gather when he comes are sacrificial people-in other words Thusians. I deduce that any gathering must be to be Thusians. It is a biblical name and experience and I am not ashamed of it. I identify myself religion wise by it and I share it with others that they too may join Thusia which is joining Christ and sacrificing for him the way he sacrificed for them. Whats wrong with that? Absolutely nothing! Some people may not like my name. They may find it controversial, they may hear or read propaganda about it and believe it and become prejudiced and biased against me for it. But so what? Did not Christ face the same? He was told he had a devil, that he was casting out demons by the devil, he was spat upon, he was ridiculed, he was murdered finally. And in it all he never denied his identity or his fathers will. Some have asked me to tone down on my religion. How can I? Jesus sacrificed for me. I have allegiance to him and I do not hide to say it. So we must be careful as Christians, that we do not compromise for favor with man. For a good name or pleasure or opportunity we must not cover up who we are. Let not the testimony of men about us be that they didnt know who we were. This is a shame. Jesus asks us to go into all the world and preach the gospel and to teach men all those things which he has commanded and baptize them in the one name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We cannot do this if we fear to tell people just who we are and who and what we represent. As for me and my house on every mission this is our affirmation: I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God into salvation to every one that believeth, to the jew first and also to the greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed out of faith into faith as it is written the just shall live by faith (with emphasis- Romans 1:16,17) And you?
