Today I am thankful to have a such a loving and caring family that has help me grow into the man I am today. My parents taught me that love and friendship is colorblind. You dont judge people because of race, gender or faith. I have seen so many comments, tweets and pictures over the past couple of weeks and I feel that as a people we have taken a great step backwards in our growth as a society. Family members mad at one another, friends and coworkers at one anothers throat because of their differences and opinions. When will it end? I sit here typing this and I realized that almost nothing has changed since my parents were running around in diapers. Why? When will we stop letting social media and a few irresponsible and misguided individuals characterize who we are as a people and as a nation? Today I am thankful that I live in a country where I can speak my mind and go where I please. I am thankful that I have met some wonderful people in my life that has help me become who I am today. Please tell that family member you love them, hug your best friend and when you see that stranger in public, tell them Happy Thanksgiving and God bless. Remember that we need to stop seeing everything as black and white. Rather when you see one another, you see your own reflection in them. Happy Thanksgiving! The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. Martin Luther King,
