Today I am thinking about my MIL Jean Farley. She passed away 5 years ago and today would have been her birthday. She was a remarkable woman that taught me a lot about life and being a mother. One of the greatest gifts she gave me was laughing out loud. I didnt do that until I met her. Her ability to make people laugh with her was amazing. The things she said.. Wow! She loved the beach and went twice a year. Some of the best times for me were at the beach with her. I was pretty stressed during deployments and it helped to be around her. It is truly the quality of time you spend with someone. The other greatest gift she gave me was her role as grandmother to Grant and Trent. She always had to get them the latest toy on the market each year, think Tickle Me Elmo craze.. She was part of that craze. The attention she gave them always stuck me as the most amazing gift. We lived hundreds of miles apart but it was like she lived next door. She was never too busy to talk. The boys were so fortunate to spend time with this amazing lady and learn how to make snakes with straws and pull your finger off plus laughing at things. I know each of us miss her. I thank her for all of her gifts to me. Happy Birthday to you in heaven!
