Today I am very, very happy to be alive and I have my plumber, Russ Rodrigues to thank! Please, WHATEVER you do, NOT use Benjamin Franklin as your plumber! I had Benjamin Franklin install this hot water heater 5 years ago and it has been charring (BURNING) my kitchen ceiling ever since. Today, when Russ tried to light the pilot light, it blew flames up the chimney and the whole house smelled like fire and burned toast. Our first thought was that perhaps the flames caught the roof on fire and I dialed 911. With their usual, spectacular response time, Morro Bay FD was here in 54 seconds. THANK YOU MBFD! Like a well oiled machine, two firemen got on the roof and checked thoroughly until they saw no flames or danger of. Russ then began to point all the things that Ben Franklin did entirely wrong and so very dangerous, and of course would never have passed a code inspection - which the Ben Franklin plumber never mentioned should have taken place. No wonder! I am still in shock, shaking and I can feel my heart pounding in my ears. The birds and I are SO FORTUNATE to have survived this plumbing disaster! Dont ever call Ben Franklin Plumbing for anything! Thank you so much Russ and please make any comments on these pics and information! A picture is worth a thousand words but angel/friends are priceless!
