Today, I attended church for the first time in a long time, partially because I was curious and partially because it was something my boyfriend wanted to do with his family for his birthday so I wanted to share in that experience. Needless to say, I was shocked. It was like being on another planet surrounded by aliens. It was so strange. The pastor began his sermon talking about Bill Nye and his quest to keep creationism from the education system. He was so snarky and condescending that it made me so angry (which I immediately felt guilty for because he is my boyfriends uncle and actually a really nice guy outside of church). Lets teach our children the TRUTH, he said. I wanted to stand up, screaming Its all fine an dandy to belief we were essentially born of incest, but dont shove it into your childrens ears! But I didnt, out of respect. After that though, it was relatively slow-going, uneventful, and pretty boring. I sat quietly in my little pew and fought off sleepiness. Theres really no moral to this story. Just a tale of experience that I felt like sharing with you guys. I know you guys will have some interesting opinions and thoughts.
