Today I began to read the diary of John Thomas, one of the first missionaries to Tonga. It is very extensive. I am very impressed at the way in which the Camden Theological Library has maintained such a good collection of new purchases over the years through wise buying and excellent oversight by the library manager. It is the best theological library for cultural diversity on both sides of the Tasman. The theological librarians association acknowledged that 3 years or so ago; its Korean collection has been regarded by leading Korean theologians as the best outside Korea - not the largest, but the best bought. I hope that it can maintain its funding and book buying capacity in the current climate of the synod:
