Today, I choose to bless The Lord! On this mornings Sunrise Devotion/Faith Focus Prayer Call, Pastor Matthew Brown shared a simple, but profound teaching about the will of God. The will of The Lord is simply found in his Word and anchored in those things that God calls us powerfully to; however, the will of God has the tendency to call us away from our comfort zone. We often struggle with the will of God, because we are not willing to submit to the will of the Father. If we are going to do the will of God, we must give up our will. We must put our will in check! Psalm 34 is a contrast of our will to the will of God, and it makes the point of submitting our will to the will of God for our lives. David said, I will bless The Lord at all times... He made a choice to bless God. He chose to submit to the will of God for that difficult season of His life. When we choose to bless The Lord, we are choosing to deny ourselves. Our will is fleshly and shaped by culture and it needs to be submitted to the spiritual will of God. We must choose to focus our will on God and not try to bend His will to our will! Many times our worship is solely based in our will...what we want, and not the will of God. When our will is focused upon God, there will be no lack in our life, our conversation changes, we make the choice to walk away for evil, and we do those things that are pleasing in His sight. When we submit to the will of God for our lives, we will find ourselves always being sensitive to His will and we will feel the weight and the burden of His will. When we submit our will to His will, we make a conscious decision to walk our Gods will, even when it is in contrast to what our own will and desires may be. Our will is our conscious state walking out the will of God. Make the choice today to walk out Gods purpose that was preordained for your life. Say to yourself, The will of God will be done in my life! May His will be powerfully manifested in your life as you stay in His face and journey well!
