Today I completed my last day of professional office work for a while. In the morning my attention will turn to being the full time care provider for my son. Over the next month I will be staying home and taking on Daddy duty. I expect October to be one of the most happiest times in my life. I feel it is such a great privilege to be spending so much time with my son especially in these early formative months. This means that I will be there when he discovers his hands, starts to bring things to his mouth, maybe even roll over. I am sure that will be spit up on a countless number of times, change at least a hundred diapers and change onesies at least three times a day which will be trying. But I also will be the one he will smile at, laugh with, go on mid-day strolls with through campus and read to. Those moments will eclipse all the crying that is ahead of me. I am so excited to be the primary parent and take some of the load off my amazing wife who has been doing the heavy lifting since day one. She has set the foundation and huge laundry list of things for me to remember and follow. I love her now more than ever for enduring birth and bringing Santiago in the world. Isora is a extraordinary mother and I am so very happy she choose me as her partner. I will gladly take on the heavy lifting so she can continue to move forward professionally. We continue to be a great duo and each others support through everything. Purchase I am out for a while, and not feeling a bit of guilt for it.
