Today I got burned by dripping hot plastic from an electric pole. My friend and I were trying to prevent a brush fire in the making that was smaller than 8 inches diameter. Later we determined it was started from the electric problem. Why do these plastic items melt on the pole? It would have caused a brush fire if we had not seen it.....SKELEC was on the ball and came out immediately, but what caused this to happen......I have blister burns from the dripping plastic and it could have caused serious injury if the boiling plastic had fallen just as someone was walking or driving past. It could have created a brush fire next to a housing development. We were all lucky this time due to timeing...but what about next time...how can this be prevented? The dots on the car are all plastic drippings that could have continuued the fire or burnt someone walking by....just happened we were there. I have three of those burns, my clothes are burnt and ruined, the car managed to stay in one piece. Please help us understand why and how this happens. Thank you!
