Today I got the shocking news that I have lost an old friend at the age of 50. A guy that was pretty awesome. He was always jovial, always had a laugh to share, and a country tune to talk about. He was the first person to hand me something original and say, Come on over and lets record it, in his excited, we are going to take it to Nashville, way!! And the beauty of it was, we thought we rocked!! ...and even greater, I walked in and met one of my dearest friends, Doug Tholl. Yep...it was a perfect jam night!! So, my heart is weighted by the fragility of life, the loss of a music comrade and the sadness of not having seen him as of late. But as my music buddies know, especially those going back as far as Boedecker, that there is this crazy bond. A Greenroom bond that is deeper than deep. The love, the fantastic laughs and the heart strings that pull daily. This is to you all...I LOVE YOU...and to Harvey Schmidt. Thanks for the country tunes and the incredible laughs at the Lakewood Xmas Show!! Oh what a night...we all started a bit early!! Ill miss knowing youre not coming back with your guitar and that big heart. God speed my friend. Ill always treasure that tape.
