Today I had an Ah-ha moment in my marriage. My husband opened my eyes and taught me something I had never considered - (which may seem odd - as we are married and should have maybe already experienced this ah-ha moment...regardless.... Here I share anyways.) I was always looking for unconditional love from Matt. He couldnt provide it. There was conditions on everything and I was always left disappointed. What I was really looking for is unselfish love. To fully love someone and let them in I believe you have to put your own wants and needs aside and expect that by doing so and loving that person unselfishly - for no other reason but that this person deserves love - unselfish love will return and bless you. For someone with walls, insecurities and past hurt to deal with, unselfish love may be impossible. Im so happy to have learned this amazing tool in marriage and cant wait to see where it gets us!!! Do you unselfishly love someone?
