Today I had to let another dear friend go and my heart is shattered. Holly gave me a lifetime of unconditional love. She did silly thing that made me smile and was one of the highlights of my day as I entered my front door after a hard tiresome day, greeting me with eyes that smiled with love and said I sure missed and Im glad youre home. Tearfully driving home with an empty seat beside me it made me think of all the people who without a second thought release their beloved pets to the shelter. They walk past a sign explaining that if the shelter is full their pet may to be euthanized. They sign a piece of paper stating the same and they walk away. I had no choice today. Trust me I begged, borrowed and stealed for more time, for a solution. But it was time to let her go so that she would not suffer and I held her as she received her Angel wings. For all those who have a choice turn around, figure it out, seek out resources, do a little homework. Please dont make that choice to possibly end a precious life. Once you enter and you walk away the choice is no longer yours. You have abandoned a dear precious friend with a heart soo full of love, unconditional, unselfish love. And many times even though they and those who fight for them, beg, borrow and steal for just a little more time second chances dont come their way either and they too get their Angel Wings much too soon.
