Today I held my first summer art class located at the Taos - TopicsExpress

Today I held my first summer art class located at the Taos Retirement Village. The facility is beautiful and we had a lot of fun. My students have established a great beginning with their individual art projects. One student is working on several self portraits. Using a three-way-mirror she is able to make front view portraits as well as 3/4 and a profile. Another student is working on a portrait of his great grandmother from an old photo taken in the late 1800s. We talked about Caravaggio (Italian painter), and William Bouguereau, (French); two of my favorites. We will discuss more of their paintings and techniques next Thursday. We were served an incredible lunch (included in the price of the class) Home-made-soup, a corn beef sandwich with melted cheese on half of a toasted bagel and a lovely salad with three choices of home-made salad dressings, the consensus was that it was all very special and yummy! It is not too late to sign up for this class. Teenagers and beginners are welcome.
