Today, I humbly disagree strongly with Kwesi pratt s analysis and conclusion on the interest likely to accrue to trustees, fund managers and custodians of the new pension arrangement as unwholesome and needless. Governments responsibility is to use the hard currency to open up the economy through such initiatives that guarantees employment at each level. Entrusting such funds to only government to manage limits its overall impact on the economy as compared with diversification of the funds. To the extent that the principal earnings of the scheme is not hindered then its cool and yes there is nothing wrong if government turns to borrow same from the private handlers cos the money is not that of govt but workers.We must be very cautious in our understanding of the socialist maxim and how quickly we anticipate its working arrangement.
