Today I learned that if you buy an appliance from Sears, they charge a delivery fee plus an installation fee plus another fee to haul away the old appliance. Total fees (not including tax) = about $200. I asked the salesman why on earth anyone would buy an appliance from them instead of Home Depot, which offers free delivery, free installation and free hauling away of the old appliance. He told me there are only two reasons: brand loyalty and Sears credit policy -- they dont charge interest if the bill is paid in full within 36 months. So, it looks as though there arent going to be any Kenmore appliances in my future.
