Today I met my goal!!! In March, when I set out to lose the weight I had gained as a result of metabolic damage, my goal was to fit comfortably in my most favorite jeans ever...a really old, beloved pair of Juicy jeans. My goal was to NOT use the scale to measure my progress but to go solely on the way I felt and the way my clothes fit. Not once have I stepped on the scale in the last 2 1/2 months. I have no idea what my starting weight was or where it is now. Bottom line: it didnt and it doesnt matter. I didnt need the scale to tell me I weighed more than I wanted. I dont need the scale to tell me how much progress Ive made now. Like many women, the scale is a huge mind-f*ck for me. It can set the tone for my entire day...totally unnecessarily. As women our weight fluctuates almost daily as a result of hormones that are constantly changing throughout our cycle. Since my goal was not tied to a competition as usually it is, the scale was something that didnt need to be part of the equation. Its been very freeing. I highly recommend setting non-scale goals for yourself as far as fitness and weight loss are concerned. It is a much more sane process. So anyway...Im wearing the Juicys today!!
