Today I met with Family Day Care educators at Boori Childrens Services in Epping to hear first-hand about the impact Tony Abbotts budget cuts will have on family day care in Scullin. These educators do a terrific job, and their passion for the children and their education really came through. Tony Abbott is cutting $157 million from Family Day Care service funding across Australia, attacking services in some of our most vulnerable communities. These cuts will force services to either increase fees or close. None of this was promised by Tony Abbott before the last election. Australian Labor Party will fight this cruel cut because families, children and their educators deserve better.
