Today I read on a friends page where he challenged everyone to speak to a stranger, if it is just a Hello while standing in line, or while waiting in a sitting room. With that being said, and it being the Christmas Season, I would like to tell a story that happened to me last Christmas here in Hennessey. As you all know I help with the Reserve Angels, a Program to help kids get Christmas gifts.... Any ways last Christmas an Officer and I was out looking for a house to deliver, it was Christmas Eve and dark out, the #s on houses were not right, and it was bitterly cold. So anyways we had gifts for kids and could not find the right house so the Officer starts knocking on doors asking if kids by their name lived there, and the first house spoke no English but we understood they did not live there, so the Officer knocks on the 2nd trailer, a little girl age aprox 4-5 told the officer no they did not live at that trailer, as we walked away the little girl ran out of the house no shoes no coat and grabbed the officer and told him that Santa did not come to see her yet... Now with that being said, I told her that Santa had left her gifts at the Police Dept and to wait inside while we go get it for her... The officer and I go to lets just call it Santas work shop gather up some stuff for this girl and her baby brother, and go back to deliver... As you can imagine that We left with tears in eyes and 2 happy kids, and parents to boot.... This is what Christmas is all about, Seeing happiness out of gesture! Oh and the kids we were looking for were in the next trailer ) With all of this being said, I want to challenge everyone to brighten a strangers Christmas, if not with a Present, maybe a card, a cup of Cocoa, or maybe just a Hello. Merry Christmas to All!
