Today, I read the most troubling and ethnocentric loaded post of a dude who is believed to be an executive member of Imani Ghana. He indicated explicitly in his post that apparent economic failures in the north are as a result of its people. The current mess in SADA which coincidentally was manned by northerners was heavily relied upon by the said dude to buttress his points. Sadly, this dude failed to appreciate the fact that the mess that characterised the school feeding programme under Mr tuffuor who himself is southerner wasnt branded a southern failure, the failure of even the Accra Metropolitan assembly to enforce building regulations amongst others that recently led to the collapsing of buildings on innocent Ghanaians is not branded a southern failure etc etc. The truth is, after Nkrumah Ghanaians havent been impressive in handling developmental projects to the admiration of all. The problem with innate failure is a Ghanaian one but not regional and must be tackled as such. Yes SADA has issues but I still picture the giant steps stanbic is making under Mr Andani, the monumental ADB expansion and outlook under Ibrahim Adam as board chair, I still remember tamale won the cleanest city in Ghana and still is under northern hands etc. Ghana must simply wake up And not just the North!
