Today I received confirmation that I am an official reader in the Reading of the Names: Post 9/11 Heroes ceremony during Memorial Day weekend at the National Mall in Washington. This is definitely an honor, getting to read off the names of some of the 7,000+ American service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice since the attack on September 11, 2001. My feelings are mixed, though. Now Im in possession of these fifteen names, and simply reading them seems... inadequate.
