Today I received news that my friend and mentor for over 20 years, Nancy Walsack, passed away. I was Nancys secretary in Fontana when I was 21 and though young (probably too young) she believed in me, hired me, and knew I could do a job that some women twice my age probably couldnt do. She encouraged me to continue school and would often share her amazing travel stories with me and Id always feel like a part of me had traveled with her through her stories and pictures. She recently shared her India pictures over lunch and we had just planned on getting together in a few weeks to share my travel pictures. For 20 years Nancy has been more giving and loving to me and sometimes Id wonder why she liked me so much but what I realized over the years is that she was that giving and loving in all the friendships and relationships she had. There will never be another Nancy Walsack in my life. I feel so fortunate to have been in her circle. A very sad, sad day! đ
