Today I salute Kendrick Perry! I remember some 5 years ago I invited this little skinny kid to EKO 5th quarter. He replied I will ask my parents. That night he came in as a freshman in high school looking a little out of place with all of the varsity players from Edgewater and other local high schools. When it was his game he got on the floor and shined like the sun. A true point guard with a basketball IQ off the chart! I remember telling Pastor Sheldon Brown that he reminds me of Chucky Atkins when he was his age. Well five years later he not only excelled in basketball but in the books. After leaving a stellar career at Edgewater with a 4.28 GPA in the classroom he sign with Youngtown State in Ohio. He continued his winning ways by breaking six school records. He was also academic All-American and a on time graduate! This will not be the last time you will hear this name for this young man is destine for greatness. I think he could be the best kept secret in the NBA if given an opportunity.. A special thanks to his parents Aubrey Perry and Deb Dennis Perry who has an organization called Path2d1. Path2d1, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose purpose is to improve the economic viability of targeted communities by increasing the population of college-educated student-student athletes. Alright Kendrick, give me a reason to keep the NBA channel and thanks for taking time out of your schedule to talk with kids at our last EKO camp.. EKO for Life!
