Today I spent several hours researching honeybees in Central Europe, tracing the lineage of subspecies of the linden tree, and looking at spreadsheets of commodity prices in Krakow from 1796-1916. Also, in the late 1300s, Poland had a woman king, because there was neither a law permitting a queen to rule, nor a law stating the king had to be male. Her name was Jadwiga (Hedwig). Historical fiction is hard.
