Today I thought Id share a different way of thinking about one of my favorite Bible verses... Psalm 46:10 says, Be still and know that I am God... and Ive always taken that to mean, Dont worry. Know that Im in charge. Trust Me. Today, as I contemplated my 1000 Gifts Bible study, I felt that God gave me a new interpretation. Be still and know… could also mean, Slow down and know...Me. * Slow down and know My heart by being fully present in the world I created for you - appreciating the gifts of restorative rain, sweet smelling flowers and majestic mountains. * Slow down and know My character by fully cherishing the people Ive put into your life and into your care - taking the time to look them in the eyes, hug them tightly and talk with them until late into the night. * Slow down and know My mind by reading My word and seeking to fully understand Me through contemplative thought and sharing those thoughts with others. Slow down and know…really get to Know…Me.
