Today I voted in favor of the Coal Residuals Reuse and Management Act of 2013 to set standards for reusing coal ash in a safe, responsible way. Without this new standard, recycling and reuse of coal ash could stop, increasing the amount of waste sent to the nation’s 21 specialty landfills on a yearly basis by 50 percent.
