Today I want to keep things short and simple, even though it is in depth and complex. As busy schedules did not allow Cathy and I to be together on our 9th anniversary, we nonetheless were able to celebrate by spending a great weekend together over labor day. I wanted to thank the Sturm family for taking the kids for a night as well. Bouncing around stores kid-free for coffee and shopping for an evening is a great privilege for a young family of 6! Most importantly I wanted to give all the glory and honor to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! We have had a wonderful 9 years, but we have also been through trials, trials that have strengthened us both a great deal. Without Jesus at the center of our relationship, we would have not likely made it, but certainly would not have the awesome relationship we do because of him. It is in the great depths and continuous learning through passages like Ephesians 5:25 where I am always growing in the knowledge of how I am to love my wife, to death. It is in the understanding of the importance of my biblical headship within my family and what it is to love and serve sacrificially, as Christ did the Church. It is important to know what to expect from each other, where our responsibilities are, and to have the ability to fulfill them. It is evident that in the joy we have, the love we share, and the strength and order we hold, that the Lord knows and has revealed the proper order for the family unit. All the knowledge, strength, and ability I have to display a Christ-like love and sacrifice to my wife and kids is solely through the grace of Jesus. Thank you Lord for the abundant life I have, a wife that cherishes you, and kids who praise your name! Jesus you are our rock, and we will forever praise you! Cathy, I look forward to every day we have together! Nine years! You are truly an amazing woman of noble character who has given much and expects nothing in return. I love you. I cherish you. I am grateful and honored to serve alongside you. Thank you for your commitment to me and our children.
