Today, I was at the AT&T store getting my new phone and I ran into one of my old GED students working for the company. This young man entered my class at 16 years old determined, in his words, to not be a statistic. Although it took him a year and he took the math several times, he refused to give up. Its days like today when I really miss being a GED instructor. It was the most rewarding job and I love to see my former students. Words cannot express how amazing it is to make a difference in a persons life. Now, this person is encouraging others to get their GED, attend college, and contribute to society by being gainfully employed. To all my teacher friends, you do make a difference even though there are days when you want to run screaming from your classroom. Keep up the good work all. You are appreciated!
