Today I was invited to like the JetBlue Facebook page. I was confused by the gesture, but considering the person who sent it to me is someone I have a lot of respect for, I googled it to find what I was missing. Reading this just made me take a step back, and think... there really are kind people left in the world who give from the heart and see beyond the media hype of this situation. While there are people protesting this gesture and offering their opposing opinions, stating things like what about the rest of the officers across the country... and JetBlue supports police brutality... my view is quite the opposite. It only takes one spark to start a fire. How you choose to set that spark is up to you. We can all pass judgment on situations based on what the news media allows us to see, make every police officer in the nation the scapegoat for the real and underlying issues.... we can light every building on fire, lay in the street, scream from the rooftops in protest. Or... we can choose to start a new and different trend, based on giving from our hearts, performing random acts of kindness and most of all.. forgiveness and not taking sides. This may be just one small gesture by an airline, but its one with the potential for making a great impact in the right direction. At the end of the day, everyones life matters. Black or white, male or female, cop or civilian... no one persons life is more important than anyone elses. The sooner we realize that, the sooner we can take steps for a real change in the world.
