Today I was on Andrea Mitchell Reports to discuss my new book, Off the Sidelines, my call to action to women to make their voices heard on the issues they care about. You can watch the piece here: on.msnbc/1rHKUtD. We also discussed the shameful way the NFL has handled Ray Rice. Im furious that he wasnt fired right away when it was clear he had struck Janay Palmer in that elevator. This is just the latest example of an institution failing to value the safety & lives of women. I truly believe that things will only change once women speak out and once women rise to positions of power in these institutions. Only then will we change the landscape, and make the decisions and outcomes of these institutions better. Thats what my call to action to women to get #offthesidelines is all about.
