Today I was very privileged to watch my baby Jaymen Elliott present his research from his 2nd year of his PhD study into the effects of shift work on blood pressure (I am paraphrasing). Apart from the fact that he spoke very eloquently and in such a way that even I, the only non-scholarly person in the room, could understand the research, I was so impressed with the support that he had in the room. That he can nurture such wonderful friendships as he has with the charming and clever Taryn Chalmers , Ty and Leon and others in the room is a testament to his gorgeous heart that is matched only by his very clever brain. I was very proud as I listened to him today and it is a bitter-sweet feeling to know that your child clearly no longer needs you to be successful. Congratulations baby. Only a trifling matter of a 100,000 word thesis now standing between you and the finishing line xx
