Today I will have SPEECH in Fr.McGrath Centre, :-) S P E E C H Dear Teresa and teachers, dear Councillors and students I would like to thank you for the honour of speaking to you in the Father McGrath Centre, of which I am also a student. When I was a young boy I read adventure books and I dreamt of traveling. And so it happened. My first big trip started from my native village Rukławki in the North East of Poland in 1985, to the big city Sosnowiec in southern Poland, to the professional and technical mining school. I was fifteen at that time. From 1988 I worked hard underground in the mine. At the time in Poland was communist regime, and any trip abroud, even to visit my family in Germany, was prohibited. In 1989, the communist regime fell, then in 1990 I visited first time my sisters in Germany. From 1991 I continued my education at Silesia University, Law Department, but I still worked underground. In 1994 I started with my own business, in 1995 founded Vitare Associacion and worked for Freedom Union Party as Secretary of the Board and Spokesman, for polish Union Solidarność, ( with means Solidarity ) I worked 3 years in Germany, 3 in France, few months in Ethiopia and from 2004 I worked in Ireland for Galmoy Mines as Miner, Shotfire, Mine Rescue Team Member Its just like you, dear students, we are all on the journey, and now we have all stoped in Kilkenny. Some of us will be here forever, others will leave in search of their place in the world. I am very happy, that in 2005, I chose Kilkenny to be my world :-) Its a great Irish City, with an interesting history, unique atmosphere and international mosaic. I would like to quote John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the great Irish president of the US “ Do not ask what the country can do for you, tell what you can do for your country “ That means, what we can do for Kilkenny ? My name is Wladek Hanczar and I would like to ask you for the honour to represent you in Kilkenny County Council I would like to ask you this, take an active part in the life of the city, go register for the elections, and vote for me .
