Today I will walk through the woods. I will feel my heart pumping harder as I climb the steep hillside and feel the wonder of my surroundings. I will hear the crunch of the fallen leaves and hear the cry of a lonesome crow calling out, where have all my friends gone? The honking sound overhead responding as the geese are making their way south answer its call with a solemn goodbye. I will be startled by the little squirrel scampering up a tree to the safety of his winter home filled with provisions for a day yet to come. Today the sun will shine and the autumn warmth will make me foolishly think that winter will not come and that it will be like this forever. The joy in my heart will leap into my throat and I will have trouble breathing because of its presence. Today the colors of the leaves of Fall will blind my eyes with their radiant colors and I will toss my head back looking at the bluest sky I have ever seen and my spirit will take flight to the far beyond and will fall in the presence of a holy God who made it all and bowing low before his loving face I will just say ....... ~~~thanks Father ~~~
