Today I witnessed my son get excluded and pushed away by two of his best friends at school as they told him You cant play. Apparently he was told the day before that the one boy wished he wasnt alive and was glad they werent in the same class this year. I saw his little heart break, as did mine. I stood up and he looked to me. I decided to hold back to see what they would do next. They proceeded to run away from him and whisper together, treating him like an outsider, and saying he was a monster that they had to keep away from. I stared the antagonist down and he kept looking back at me, very familiar with me after their years of friendship, and I held my gaze. Finally I said I know what you are doing. It is not very nice. Estrellos is very sad and doesnt understand. Why are kids such meanies?
