Today, Jude and I bought some routine stuff at Lowes and the kind cashier innocently said, Ill accept that cute little fellow for your purchases. And instinctively I told her that neither that store, nor all of the Lowes stores, even with added with all of the Home Depots and all of the other stores in the world would be worth my grandson. And in that instant, I had a flash of recognition of what it means to value life above money, above profit, above material things. I wondered if a universal epiphany could result in the elimination of most, of not all, of the evils of the world regarding our brothers and sisters....
