Today: Now this is what the LORD Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but have harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.” Haggai 1: 5-6 (NIV) Thought for the day: Have you ever planted a garden and it didn’t give much back at harvest time? It’s possible that you didn’t water it enough or give it enough nutrients or the soil wasn’t prepared properly. This also applies to our lives. Sometimes we complain about our lives or our children and grandchildren’s lives are not being fulfilled like we would like them to be. We need to prepare ourselves, live accordingly, work hard at what we know, live wisely and spend our money that we earn wisely, reach out to the needy, show compassion where needed, give thanks to the Lord for what we have instead of complaining about what we don’t have. God will provide for our needs when we are faithful and obedient. This we can pass on to our children and grandchildren. (Verse 7 also says: This is what the LORD Almighty says: Give careful thought to your ways.)
