Today (October 14th, 2014) gave me so much joy to help Burton Snowboards accept the State of Vermont, Governor’s Certificate of Congratulations, for being the Brain Injury Association of Vermont’s EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR. So happy that the Best Company in the Nation finally gets some recognition for being a strong support chain and helping our nation’s TBI survivors, like myself, get a steady and pleasant reintroduction into reality. I cannot speak more than the award does, but I am just so thankful for the support My Burton Family has given to me since my recent return into this epic world that we live in. Thank You Peter Shumlin! Thank You Burton Snowboards! “First award this year is for Employer of The Year. This employer is described as having an amazing understanding and appreciation for Brain Injuries. It is important work in understanding the recovery process. They are able to perceive Strength and Challenges, and actively develop strategies to help the individual be successful. They are willing to develop a productivity standard that is specific to that individual. More importantly, there are no repercussions to that person not meeting the productivity. Instead, it is used as a tool to build insight to allow one to track their progress. All those that come in contact with this specific employer are completely impressed at the willingness to accommodate not just now, but see the vision and the future long term. The 2014 Employer of the Year is Burton Snowboards, and here to accept the award is Charles Rand!“ 26th Annual Brain Injury Conference Shout out to the Talent Skatepark and Shop Inc.s Shred Guru Hannah Deene Wood. Your speech was excellent and inspiring. LoveYourBrain
