Today, Science Center guests were treated with a taste of things to come! As a result of our educational partnership with Northrop Grumman, students interning in their High School Involvement Partnership (HIP) demonstrated circuit kits that they have been prototyping this summer for the Science Center. Guests were able to learn about electric current and how it powers devices such as LEDs, touch screens and light bulbs. Today’s demos will help us develop a new “tinkering” activity on the Science Center floor. HIP was established in 1971 and allows high school seniors to participate in a hands-on job training program and earn high school credit.
