Today, Sep 19, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM KVFD TV Live Many years ago, on a bumpy bus ride along a dusty road in south central Chile, I was trying to read the words of Isaiah the prophet. I felt uneasy in the cramped and uncomfortable seat of the small and noisy bus, but not due so much to the physical situation, but the spiritual. I was seeing in my minds eye, an awful, a dreadful, scene of doleful creatures, moving and flitting about in deserted houses, where once children laughed and played, while their parents watched over them. I could see wild beasts of the desert lying there, in the midst of dust, ruin and giant spider webs, with owls dwelling there, and satyrs dancing there. I didnt even know what a satyr was exactly, but the image of their dancing among the wild beasts of the islands, roaring, crying and screeching in the desolate houses of the former inhabitants, now long gone, and dragons roaming through their pleasant palaces, filled me with a sense of melancholy and doom. Why do people forget God? Why do they forget his goodness and mercy towards them? As I stared through my own faint reflection in the window to the passing scene outside, I knew the answer: They don’t think about it. Most people think only of the other people in their lives, and the food they do or don’t eat, the drink they did or didn’t drink, the clothes they will or will not get to wear. They think about the things they and the people around them do or did or are going to do, but they don’t think of the things that God does, or did, or is going to do. In general, people don’t seek God, they don’t inquire of him, as he wants them to do, but they are quick to sin and swift to do iniquity and don’t realize that the day of the Lord is soon to come, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and destroy the sinners thereof out of it. Yet, it has happened, over and over again. Please join us to discuss it today on “The Prophets of Zion.” Mobile users can go here: youtube/watch?v=PijjGSurxI4
