Today Zachs WISH came true!!! Meet WHITLEY. She is a lab / golden retriever mix who was bred to be a guide dog for the blind. She is 2 years old and completed her obedience training and guide dog training. Fortunately for us, she didnt pass muster as a guide dog...but only because she couldnt get over going to the bathroom while working in her service vest. She is so sweet and calm! We received a call from Make-A-Wish just last week and were able to visit The Seeing Eye in Morristown NJ today to meet Whitley. Zach was so excited! He was a bit overwhelmed and upset when she pulled a little when he tried to walk her, but Whitely responded with such patience and didnt bat an eye. We new the match was a good one, so we brought Whitley home with us. Zach has warmed up to her, and I think he is going to have a lot of fun with his new friend. I think Make-A-Wish still has some special surprises for Zach and Whitley, so more to come.
