Today, a battle took place among 50 Reading Warriors at Iowa Elementary. With the funding support of the Sprouts Foundation, we sponsored the American Battle of the Books at Iowa Elementary. 50 plus children at Iowa have dilligently spent the school year reading 20 books, which culminated today in a Family Feud like competition in front of classmates and parents answering a variety of questions about the books they had to read. The energy level was super-high as the kids competed in front of their classmates. Every child who participated received a t-shirt and a Barnes and Nobles gift card. A few lucky competitors, who got their names drawn out of a bowl, also received complete boxed sets, which included series from Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, The Hunger Games, Fablehaven and Judy Moody. Congrats to the students who participated - THEY ARE ALL READING WARRIORS!
