Today a customer came in with his stunning wife and bought $700 worth of merchandise. He had the coolest hair and a million dollar smile. My guess is hes about my age (48). He seemed so successful. After loading his stuff into his beautiful Infiniti SUV crowding his toddler in her car seat, I said, Do you mind if I ask you what you do? He said, I own a roofing company in Austin and my wife does permanent tattoo makeup. I had overheard her saying she had her tithe money to give in her purse. I blurted out, You tithe?! I tithe, too! I felt like an idiot. I might really have Tourettes! Before he left he said, What is Hope for the Homeless? I ran and got the Dallas Morning News article and told him of the people we have helped and told him about CitiChurch and that I was the pastor. He said, I was in prison and I was addicted. I was homeless for 7 years and Ive been clean and sober for 7 years now. Wow. You just never know. He thanked me for what we do and gave a financial gift to our ministry. I am humbled and touched. God is an amazing restorer. You have never gone so low that God cant lift you up. You are so special.
