Today a giant of soul music--Bobby Womack--passed away at age 70. While not as well-known as many other R&B artists, Womack was highly respected as a composer, singer, musician and performer. Though Wilson Pickett is the singer, this Womack-written tune has always been a favorite of mine. IMO, the guitar work by Bobby and Reggie Young is as good as it gets. The recording was produced by the two other legends: Tom Dowd and Tommy Cogbill. In fact, thats Tommys bass work (remember Funky Broadway?) on the recording.
