Today a group of 20 soldiers from around Australia visited the Memorial for a series of events to commemorate the First World War. This is an initiative started by the Chief of Army to acknowledge and reward select soldiers for their outstanding achievements as junior leaders and promote the study of military history, in particular the First World War. The group took a tour of our collection storage facilities at Mitchell and the Memorial galleries. They finished their visit at the Last Post Ceremony, where a member of the delegation laid a wreath at the Pool of Reflection.
